Knowing Your Rights As A Grandparent
In California, the court can make orders for grandparents to spend time with their grandchildren. Grandparents rights are subordinate to parents’ rights. But in certain limited circumstances where it can be established that a) a parent has cut off all communications with a grandchild and b) a grandparent has a pre-existing relationship with a grandchild, the court can make orders insuring contact.
